Website Maintenance Done Right (from the start)!

by Del Maxwell

Sonora takes every step possible to ensure that your website updates go smoothly. If your requests seem to be taking a long time to accomplish, it may be that we are trying to figure out exactly what you want us to do!

Refer to the URL, not what you call the page.
If you want a specific page to be modified, let us know what URL you want us to change (ie. www.yoursite.com/page.html). If you simply tell us to modify your Purple Widgets page, we have to click through your entire site and find the page we think you are referring to and then compare the edits you requested to the current contents of the Purple Widgets page and determine if it's indeed the correct page. If the page is particularly long, we may not be able to tell for sure without contacting you for clarification.

Name attachments something similar to the page name.
If you are sending a Word .doc and a .jpg photo for your About Us page, name the document something like About.doc and name the photo something like About.jpg. If you want to place a copy of the photo within the Word .doc to show us where it should be placed in relation to your text, that's fine. But please send the full size .jpg also so we can resize it in our graphics software. It can be difficult to remove images from Word.

If there's no time to do it right the first time, how will there be time to do it twice?
Taking the extra minute to properly describe your intended edits will not only save time and therefore money, it will ensure accuracy. If we are unable to properly interpret your request and our best shot turns out to be wrong, we will have to reopen the project and add more time to your maintenance bill.

Don't wait until the last minute.
The more time we have to complete your requests, the more likely we are to get it right the first time. If it took you 3 weeks to put together the list of changes you want made and you send us the list on Friday looking for a Monday turnaround, it stands to reason that we will be unable to process your request within our normal maintenance protocol.

Expedite it!
Don't have time to wait for your changes? We understand, and we're very happy to serve you. Last minute, emergency maintenance services are available for an additional charge.

DID YOU KNOW??

The name started as a joke boasting about the amount of information the search-engine would be able to search. It was originally named 'Googol', a word for the number represented by 1 followed by 100 zeros. After founders - Stanford graduate students Sergey Brin and Larry Page presented their project to an angel investor, they received a cheque made out to 'Google'

Did you know that?

TESTIMONIALS...(from some of our recent projects)

"What a remarkable difference between our old website, and the site that was recently designed by Sonora. I understand that it was a tremendous amount of work to get the new website completed, but it was well worth the wait! Our website is the face of Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties to the outside world, and we should all be proud of how we are now presenting ourselves. Thanks again, and please extend my thanks to the Sonora team."

"I just wanted to thank you again for helping me out this weekend. Briana is doing a great job! We are almost done, just some minor changes, but her work is beautiful!"
